FAQ

WHAT IS A PET SITTER?

Pet Sitter is a contracted service provider who takes care of a pet in its own home.

WHAT IS DAILY/DAYTIME DOG WALKING?

Daily or Daytime dog walking is a service provided on a weekly, ongoing basis that primarily focuses on exercise   A daytime dog walker is usually hired to walk or visit dogs that need a regular break during the busy work day. A dog walker may be scheduled for daily visits or just a few days week, often once or twice a day depending on your work schedule and the needs of the animals. The most common dog walking visits are scheduled for somewhere between 20 and 60 minutes.

SHOULD MY PET SITTER BE INSURED AND LICENSED?

You should definitely select a pet sitter who is insured for liability.  YES, we are insured. There is no professional pet sitting licensing only business licensing for doing business in a city, county or state. There are some fantastic national organizations that offer pet sitting instruction and certifications. We’ve also been a part of these organizations in the past.

CAN MY PETS STAY AT THE PET SITTER'S HOME INSTEAD OF MY HOME?

Some pet sitters do offer boarding services.  Boarding availability may be limited to certain types of pets, since special licensing and additional insurance may be required of the pet sitter. You must have a special license/permit to board animals other than you own in your home in Gwinnett County Georgia. We do not offer this service.

HOW LONG IS A VISIT?

There are no guidelines to determine what length of visits will be (such as 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc).  Homes with multiple pets will often require longer visits than homes with only one animal. We will discuss and tailor a schedule that will provide the best care for your pet.

WHAT TIMES DO YOU COME?

We start our schedules at 8am and try to conclude them by 9pm. MORNING 8am-11am, AFTERNOON 12:30pm-4pm, EVENING 5pm-9pm. Your visits are scheduled around our routes for that particular service day. We try to accommodate a requested time but can’t guarantee it. Every effort will be made to be as close as we can to your request.

HOW MANY TIMES A DAY SHOULD I SCHEDULE FOR MY PET?

The frequency of visits is something that will be reviewed and scheduled once the pet sitter determines your needs and addresses any concerns. Most indoor only dogs will require a minimum of 3 visits per day (at least morning, afternoon, and evening).    Most clients choose once per day, or twice per day for cats.  Some sitters will consider every other day visits for cats.  Every other day visits are not recommended for young or senior cats because of potential health problems. We prefer not to offer every other day service for cats.

HOW MUCH DOES PET SITTING COST?

Each pet sitting business sets its own rate structure, which can vary greatly from other businesses. The majority of pet sitters charge a base rate per visit.  An average per visit base rate for a 30 minute is $18 per visit. Some sitters may have additional charges based on number of pets, mileage to your home, holidays, or tasks needed. At EZ Pet Services of Gwinnett we charge a base rate of $19 per visit for up to thirty minutes but not limited at thirty depending on circumstances.

DO I NEED TO MEET MEET WITH YOU?

Yes. If you are a new client with us. This is so that we can meet you and your pet, go over pet care instructions and keys and access codes. We Require This Consultation before we can start services.

DO YOU LEAVE NOTES? CAN YOU TEXT ME - CAN I CALL YOU AFTER THE VISITS?

We have pets of our own and understand about separation anxiety for and from them. We will do everything to ensure your pet receives the same attention you would give them. During our last scheduled visit we will leave a note with any unexpected occurrences. For an extra comfort we would recommend home monitoring technology. This would allow you access over a secure internet connection 24/7 to see your pets and their surroundings. A majority of our clients use this and feel comfortable when they travel.

SO WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU?

We are a responsible, reliable pet loving couple who have experience in the professional in-home pet care industry. We don’t run specials, our rates are nonnegotiable, no apps, no strangers in your home. We can provide references both personally and professionally if requested. We are professional with a casual service approach from start to finish. We prefer to keep this easy for you, your pet and us.

CAN YOU DO …?

Yes and No, remember any additional request other than pet care instructions or run of routine will delay in the attention to your pet. Basics like bring in the mail, paper and packages, adjust lighting are all included in our services.

We use an on-line scheduling service that is easy and user friendly. You can build your profile, schedules and communicate directly with us.
